Have you looked into the TrollMaster Pro2?

I've been using a troll master the last three years with my 9.9 Zuki. The only reason I bought it was new with out a box on EBay,got it for $120,I fabbed my own servo mount on the engine,at the time troll master didn't make one for a 9.9 EFI.
As far a the kicker trolling motor combo it takes a little getting used to but once you do....it really works good.

My 9.9 merc has a pendulum dial. Still rebuilding the transom and haven't ran it yet. It going on my son's stick steer side pull jon boat. I put an older 55# MK on the back on my crappie boat... just clamped it onto my transom. Put a PWM on the trolling motor with a big foot on off switch up front. And yeah it took some getting used too. With TM to port side of the keel it doesn't push center line. So sometimes I am going forward but at a crooked orientation. lol Almost makes me drunk and definitely makes me look drunk. Have you considered one of the electric motors that attaches to the foot of your big engine. Or possibly a troll plate. I'm sure you have but wanted to give you food for thought

Unless Excel throws me a deal I can’t refuse (like on this boat) I’m hoping it is the last boat I ever own. I don’t want to put hundreds of hours on my 250SS Suzuki. I’ll let the kicker absorb all those trolling hours.

At almost 65 with 2 dime-store knees and back, it is wonderful not having to climb up onto casting decks. Flat floor in passenger compartment then two steps thru the windshield to the front casting deck.

The transom is already set up for kicker.

all the Alaskan guides have tillers on most of the rigs they use . of course i never saw one with a remote on it . the captain used the main console and big motors to steer and the tiller was stationary .interesting thought and read none the less .

Doug, go to a walleye fishing board and ask about this. There’s a lot of guys that can give you the info you need. They’ve been trolling with smaller motors for a long time. They use some kind of auto pilot setup for their trolling motors.

Kenny, I’m a member of a couple walleye boards and just follow their discussions. Always good to see what other species guys are doing that’s working and might be adaptable. That’s where I made up my mind about the kicker.
