You do very nice work, your background shows. Mostly, welcome from Central Florida. The pattern used for the pinks would look very good with a mix of fluorescent green and yellow, with maybe a splash of white. Really like those pink ones. Started tying about 12 to 14 years back and my vise time is low right now, but the ideas still flow like a strong river. Looking forward to what you come up with.

If I remember correctly I had an excellent experience on the lake as a young man using my grandfathers fly equipment and fly's. I caught sixteen or seventeen nice slab crappies that evening on "bugs" that look like the ones I tie now. If my wife and daughter go EWE! I'm on to something. The crappie fishing and jigs is just going to make it worse and the best part is they got me new chest waders, a new vest, and a new spinning rig so I'm completely encouraged to do it.

I'm enjoying learning the jig patterns very much and hope the crappie like them as much as we do. Thanks for the color tips, there's an incredible assortment out there. And for the warm welcome.

Are you using ostrich herl for tail material? Great looking trout flies too.

Yep, that's exactly what that is, I got a big white one for a dollar somewhere I think and since I'm waiting on materials just figured I'd try it. Tail is 2 black first, then 3 colored Chinese saddles, and white herl.

Thanks. I've been tying some with ostrich herl also. Seems to have great action. The pieces I have are ancient and shorter, but look like they will work fine.

can point me in the right direction for understanding chenille sizing I'd appreciate it. I'll have to try some of that stuff out. I really like using two tones for wrapping bodies. So many ways to tie these. Obviously I'm an incurable case so I accept it.

Here's the colors I worked with last night: Black marabou, orange deer belly hair, white marabou, burnt orange chenille, burnt orange 3/0 thread, orange Eagle Claw jig head.

The static electricity here is so bad that working with feathers is almost impossible, crazy. Be nice if we could harvest that.
