Awesome shot. Herons are stealth hunting/fishing machines. I only wish I had the patience, focus and stealth of a heron while I’m bow hunting.

I know your quick on the draw with your camera phone but I think this was a new record..... That bird has taken some lessons from the hawks and eagles.....LOL

sometimes I wish I was about a half second faster , the things I witness that
I need an image are often quite interesting and occur before my old hands and mind can work as one .
I am pretty sure if I said I saw a great blue pick up a fish off the surface with its feet ,folks would say sure ketch sure

when it went into its stoop shall we just say , it came in a bit hot and off target slightly and did a light bounce off the surface before the strike ....and was a squawking like a spring chicken for sure
