The St. Johns river system lakes are awfully good for crappie. I'd be looking there if I were in the Orlando area.

I’m at the theme parks with my family and I keep looking at all ditches, creeks and sloughs around the area. They look like they’d be full of crappie!!! What kind of water are you guys fishing in?

Me, I like Lake Monroe, a little bit north of Orlando.
another good day at the office !
If you can get a rod in any of the lakes at the attractions without getting in a pinch..........DO IT!!! No one fishes them for the most part. I have a few stories of sneaking a rod onto Disney property when I was in construction. Got caught and told to put it away, more than once, but it was worth it. Don’t get yourself in trouble and all of the ponds and such that have good water in them now would probably give up a few fish. Hasn’t rained much for a couple of months and some of them will be almost dry. Be careful of the wildlife.
