Yes believe it or not I took a SKUNK home with me this w-end.... It's been so long since I've smelled this bad I got a good laugh from it.....I tried almost every trick I know and NOTHING that I tried worked......
I fished from 6fow to 25fow in every area the wind allowed...... Think I needed live scope.....LOL
I did bring two fish in the boat one blue cat and one yella bass but not a one crappie......
Water was really off color in all the areas I fished....56° water temps.....
What's your story......

So you didn't actually get skunked and got some fish slime on your hands. I'd be happy with 40 degree water temps instead of the ice that we have on the smaller lakes here. Less than an inch thick so you can't walk on it. I posted a big zero once this year out of three trips so it does happen even though I don't like to admit it. You'll get some next trip.
Not a skunk, just didn't get what you were targeting.
Some days you're the hammer, some days you're the nail.
It takes the bad days just make you appreciate the awesome days that much more.
That's fishing. Next time you might not be able to keep them off the hook.

I need to shower today too! Left the lake empty handed although our main goal was not to fish but to track a safe navigation path into the creeks that I could use later this spring. Water Temps ranged from 48 at the mouth of the creek to 60 in the farthest spot we made it to. Saw very little bait in the creeks. And found no aggressive fish.
It doesn't appear the Temps have dropped enough to fully drive the bait and spawn in NE Texas. It was too windy to fish the bridges as well. Next time!
They were up next to the the bank laughing at you and Getting revenge for all the times you sore lipped all their cousins!
humble pie keeps it interesting for sure!
SK is Cool, he posted the bad as well as bragged when it is good. Sounds like a "Fish" story to me......I really enjoy your company on my TV SK! If you ever want to film a Gulf Coast video let me know. I have a ton of empty bedrooms here.
I often find the best of my efforts comes away with little or no reward on crappie .
Sometimes they make me quite sad and feel like I wasted my time .
Off the bank with no way to chase them makes it EVEN more difficult I promise .
But none the less I remember one trip in my boat VERY well a few years ago ....
me and my little crappie machine hit a lake that always produces late one winter.
I burned gas running ,I found fish in herds , I NEVER even got a peck ....
I got so desperate that i hit a tornado of birds and tried to ketch just any fish .
I EVEN picked up shad off the surface and tipped my jigs .
I couldnt EVEN ketch a stray fish that day
I left the lake that day with a new understanding of how no person is bullet proof on crappie and why i aint always "Ketchn"![]()
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales![]()
