    My friend caught one after that, that was exactly 14" long, and it looked tiny in comparison!

    graph the deep water along the dam carefully and slowly and look for popcorn looking spots stuck to the bottom
    possibly on or near rock piles or old laydowns .
    hold the boat VERY still and drop it to the bottom ......pick it up no more than 6 inches and hold still like a rock ....
    i dont know your lake but i bet money somewhere along the dam is a rock and roll them really good location ....
    you got about 2 more weeks to hit that magic number my friend .....
    try this tip ....it might push ya there quick ...
    and that is a DANDY fish my friend ...congrats

    Thank you all, this is a great site. There is no dam, the fish are spread out in a vast amount of open water with no structure, qe can troll,but its its one rod per.
