    I'm a bit of a computer guy, & thought about the idea of using a cheap switch made for home networks, but didn't want to post about it in case there was something unusually special bout the Garmin product making it essential. Good to know & thanks for sharing. The plug/unplug scenario when running 2 transducers would also be way more convenient than ferrying a memory card between units.
    For anyone with the necessary crimpers & cat 5 cable on hand, all you need is the Garmin connectors to make it waterproof. Way cheaper than the overpriced cable from Garmin.
    Easy to do & looks factory.
