    Default Skunked

Haven’t been out in several weeks, other than the trip with my daughter a few weeks ago.

Got an hour in tonight, and man I missed it.

    But I got skunked.

It rained 2 inches over the last week, so I’m sure that was part of it. I was out of worms, but figured I would use the crappy nibbles since they worked well for my daughter. I grabbed a slice of bologna out of the fridge on my way to the small pond.

Nothing. A few nibbles on the bologna, but zero action other than that. Went home empty-handed

Been tough for lot of us lately. We had flooding in a lot of places today and a friend of mine sent me a video of his kid catching a ton of 8 inch bluegill out of their flooded back yard....LOL. Hundreds had moved in there off the lake....go figure....LOL.

    Regards

lakes went up a mile here as well , didnt seem to stop the fish though .
the spot we went to last week went up at least 5 feet and the bluegill were still there
and the spot we hit yesterday the same thing and the bluegill were still there
of course there were alot more fish in both cases in shallower water , but that i imagine is due to the water temperature falling quickly and lots of food items being washed in the water during the rains .
no worries you will be back on them next visit i am sure

Maybe consider using light jigs and small soft plastics. Many times the horizontal retrieve not only covers more water but tells you what depth the fish are in vs the vertical d/s approach. Because of the 15 mph wind, yesterday was tough where I usually go but at least a lot of miniature fish hit. (3" of less)

Does this still hold true at night?
