Yep ... all sorts of "other" fish have graced my landing net or been unceremoniously yanked over the side of the boat when I was tryin real hard to catch a Slab Crappie.

Tried to whoop me it did , but as it often happens ,sometimes the whoopins don't go as planned don't ya know
and yes and no ....yes we let it go and no we dint EVEN try to eat it .....

The earlier season, I hooked 4 catfish all on bobbers rig range from 5-10lb. 2 of them at night, talk about fun and worried that I had no where ready to land for those catfish.

No pic but I'll tell the story. I was fishing below a waterfall in Rainey Lake Minnesota. I hook something that just didn't want to come in. Crappie? Walleye? Northern? Nope. Mitchell 300 covered in barnacles but up in that fast water it fought like a tuna.
