Default Arkabutla is Arkabutla, You never know, what will happen.

A friend and I went to Butla yesterday for a fun day of fishing for multi- species- Blue Gills, Crappie and bass, and anything that would bite. Well, you guessed it, nothing, not even a bite. Winds were high and the water was muddy. We tried almost everything, nothing! Live Scope and fish finders showed almost everything at 16'. The water was white capping and it was just to harsh to troll. We rode all around the lake trying to find a place out of the wind, but to no avail. The dead sea was up to it's old tricks again. A tough day for sure- but I love that lake.
Maybe next time. Oh well life is great.

Thirty years ago I had a patient who fished Arkabutla two times a week, not matter what. He was tight lining minnows under a float, but he consistently caught large numbers of fish. I was hooked on Sardis, and he would just smile. He fished the flooded timber areas towards the interstate and Hwy 51. They're there in Arkabutla, but many times difficult to lasso.

Yes, that sounds disappointing fish wise but you had a great day in the outdoors and on the water. Next time - I guess that’s why they call it fishing not catching! LOL. Fish on!

sometimes its tough to ketch a fish , I hit a spot the other day and only managed 2 crappie and a bluegill and its was white capping and the wind was howling and to be sure an unsteady "perch" if you know what I mean .
sometimes it just is what it is ,,,,maybe next visit ,,,,
