We've had plenty of "interesting" threads here at CDC. They're still available -- if you know where to look.

Through the magic of the search function, I just went back and read a couple. Hee -- larious!

I didn’t read it at all, didn’t have to. I knew what to expect. Two words I take very seriously are friends and family. We all have many buddies but few true friends. I don’t think I have to explain how important I think the word family is. They will always have your back, regardless. I have many friends here, some I have never and may never meet, but we are likeminded and no explanation is needed. After 12 plus years I consider this to be my second family. They have proved it many times, not knowing that they did. I’m proud to call them that and I tell others that as well.

I was told when I was a much more hardheaded individual than I am now and in my early twenties, that if I finished this life with enough true friends to fill one hand that I would be a fortunate man. Thankfully, I’m still here, and I can say that some of those friends came from here on CDC. I’ve been on other sites and been bashed for having an opinion different to someone else. Some from nationally famous celebrities of our sport, that being fishing in general, don’t even visit the site bearing their name because of all the hate and discontent. That alone spoke more to me than anything else. We can all say thanks to slab and the moderators for the way this has been and is handled. I’ll climb down off my soap box now. I post a lot and have been deleted some myself. I’m just an outside the box kinda guy, but I try to behave and the fellas keep me in line when I don’t. That’s what friends do. I get a little wound up some, thanks for bearing with me.

"outside the box kinda guy" dang that is an understatement! doh.....just kidding Timbo....yet another thing I always say is "everybody funny", from the "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" Thorogood song. And yep, "everybody funny". Everyone is different, and that what makes the world go around. Glad to call you my friend Skeet. And yep, just remember: "Family, Friends, Fishing and Fun" the official slogan of Crappie.com. The funny thing is, it's been copied by other organizations, and I take that as a compliment. But just like every jig in the world, someone else prolly thought of it first anywho.

I’ve never caught a walleye. If that thread represents what it’s about, I want no parts of it. I’m not knocking opening days or individual pursuits but I much more appreciate the finer, laidback, enjoyable days on the water, lifestyle.

I do not post much as I mostly bass fish and don't have much to add. But I would like to add my 2 cents on this thread. This is a nice site and I enjoy my "reprieve" almost nightly. It's a simple pleasure that reminds me simple pleasures are great.

I don't care for folks that watch talking heads on cable TV telling how to think and dislike , even more, the way people believe they need to tell me about it. You simply don't get that here and that's a good thing.

Even though I don't crappie fish much, I do learn a lot about fishing here and the camaraderie expressed when a member is going through rough times is exceptional.

I'm glad we are all different. If we were all the same we'd be a sad bunch.

I'm happy with the way crappie.com rolls, real happy.

I always thought it was a knockoff of the big McDonald's ad campaign in the 1990s where their slogan was "Food, Folks, and Fun"

I think your screen name should have been a Ronald McDonald knockoff, maybe Ronald McCrappie?

This being only my 6th post, I’m just barely here but I’m enjoying the heck outa this place! The civility here is like a breath of fresh air and more and more, civility is becoming difficult to find on the internet.
