Those drum seem to be getting bigger. When I was a kid back in the 50's we caught a lot of small ones on Kentucky Lake. Now I catch them frequently and a 10 lber is not unusual.
    Any reason for this?

I been ketchn drum for years mostly small and sometimes a 2 or 3 pounder, this 8 lb was my biggest ever and I wish it had been a walleye!

Crappie were not liking the fluctuating weather temps, caught one a week earlier at the same small lake at 4 PM, it was a male near shore in brush, water temp was 63.

Are you sure those aren’t crappie magnets? They look bigger than my trout magnets. Good catch.

They are trout magnet bodies on 1/32 sickle jigs.

Nice catch. I've had quite a few 20 pound drum hit the Trout Magnet over the years.

    Regards

That 8 pounder had some endurance, I thought it was a big carp! I cant imagine a 20 lb drum on a light rod/reel! I'm loading up Shimano 500's with S0S 2 lb test - hoping for gills and crappie only!
