Default Black Nose Crappie vs. Magnolia Crappie

I caught this fish on the Missouri River yesterday. I first heard about these a couple of weeks ago.

Is there a way to tell the difference between a Black Nose and a Magnolia?

It is most likely a Blacknose UNLESS you catch it from some small lakes in Mississippi, which is where the Magnolia Crappie is stocked.

But, as far as being able to tell the difference between the two just by looking at them .... no.

I was gonna post about blacknose too, caught the first myself last night. It is definitely blacknose since we don’t have white crappie, I believe.
