Garmin update schedule
Unlike Roy, I am not confident in trying to “roll back” my updates for my 8610xsv and GLS10. Finally got on the lake yesterday for a couple of hours. Our private ramp opened so we can join the deluge of boats coming from owners who live on the lake. We were moderately successful but did notice we could not “see” our jig except occasionally. I am fairly familiar with most settings and tried lots of changes, to no avail. I attribute this change to the update that Garmin put out to try to fix the previous flawed update. I would just like to have the clarity I used to have. I know Garmin techies are bound to be on this issue and assume a new update should be pending. Any idea when? I am still catching fish.

Nice fish. Really no idea when Garmin plans to release a new update.
Believe you me I was not confident in doing the rollback. Like you I could still use my unit but grew very frustrated with all the clutter and dead zones making it difficult to see my bait and fish. I was pretty puckered up doing the forced update. It took less than 10 minutes from beginning to end but I was really nervous until my unit rebooted and I seen everything worked. Roll back image is better, not perfect but don't think it ever was but it is a big improvement over the last 2 Garmin updates.

Thanks, Roy. Reckon you could tell me where I might find previous downloads? My 8610xsv has a different one then your chart although the GLS10 is the same. Thanks for your help.

The guys on BBC website could probably be able to tell you were to get you the right one for your unit. I really wish Garmin would make the older software available, they still say they cant, I don't buy it. I would email you the zip file that someone sent me if you had an Echomap unit. I was not comfortable doing the rollback. You had to download the zip files to your computer, then unzip them and extract the Garmin file with the right files to a mico sd card, insert the card in your unit, turn on your unit while holding down the number 4 button. I'm not encouraging anyone to do this, I would hate to see anyone mess up their unit. Those of us that have done this are glad it worked!

Guess I will wait for Garmin. The process is not daunting but the repercussions of a glitch are formidable. Last thing I want now that I can get on my lake is to have to send my unit in. At least I can see the fish. Come on Garmin. We are waiting.

I agree, come on Garmin! But from all that I'm reading between the lines it seems Garmin may have changed some things that can't be totally undone by inserting the Perspective View stuff into the unit and black box.
