Thread: Tuesday's chili dog tournament

Let me start off by telling yawl it was mighty close to another crappie taco Tuesday tournament ! With the current trend at the grocery stores it was a miracle Ez found a few hot dogs and buns I tell ya !
I think I won with 3 dogs down ,but Ez was sure pushing me to go for the lake record
In the mean time we all ketched crappie ,bluegill and bass . Sk and I managed some pretty large bass and H brought his daughter and she managed a real nice bluegill .
Now mind you we didn't ketch any real ridiculous big crappie but we had one that as around 1.5 and as bass that brushed 7 lbs .
We sank more bamboo as we traditionally do and had a splendid time I must say , lots of smiles and fish and good times for sure .
We played livescope heros on the video game thing and managed to best a few fish with it and taught the girl how to tell us when crappie were in our area and interested in our jigs .
It for sure don't get much better I tell ya .
Fish were all over the map as they tend to do in the spring and some were parked on the bottom in 18 foot of water and then some were in 4 foot of water with fish all in between .
Sometimes they wanted big gaudy baits and other times the leaned towards smaller stuff .
Some liked it falling ,some like it rising , some liked it drug along slowly and some wanted it dead still .
Filleted a few right out of the basket for the couple on the next houseboat beside us for their dinner and donated the rest to a man trying to feed his family .
A big shout out to all that participated and for sure THANK YOU Ez for your more than generous ways
