Darn, your first post helped me with my decision on hummingbird vs. garmin. Now you’ve thrown “game changer” and I’m second guessing...........again.....lol.
Pretty neat slab, I noticed yours didn't give a depth reading as well. When mine did it was something outrageous like 60 feet in 8 foot of water. I have a HB unit under the Garmin so it's not an issue. I just turn off the depth, temp and time overlay. I noticed in about 11 or 12 foot of water it starts to lose bottom. That's cool with me, didn't get many pics I still like forward view right now. Neat tool for sure, all in one unit / transducer.

Mine has not shown me depth in perspective mode ever. I figured it didn't have anything pointing straight down so I'd never get depth. And I did turn the transducer around as opposed to in my first pics in this thread, but I don't think it matters, it worked for me either way. Looked the same when I was in the same waters. But still, I'm gonna run it the way they have it in their media pics.
Figured that was the case on depth reading. And good to know about the transducer position. I'm guessing they recommend it like shown so when you turn the L bracket to the port side of TM shaft the transducer is back in forward view. I still think Mega 360 has it's place in the market, like I said in water 12 foot or deeper the perspective mode loses a lot of its potential due to the narrow cone projected. Wish I could have both!
I have yet been able to successfully calibrate the compass. I tried maybe 10 or 12 times to which none were successful. I don't use any maps on my Garmin I have HB's with lakemaster cards for that. I had my transducer mounted on the trolling motor barrel previously. I saw great improvement on my livescope sonar returns today using the transducer on the shaft. I honestly forgot all about calibration today. Thanks, for the reminder. I've read the calibration process is much better when the transducer is mounted on the shaft as opposed to the barrel. I will try this again next trip out!
