I'm stupid when it comes to this type of fishing. Troll motor or gas motor for .8-.9 ? And are rod holders at back of boat? If using 1 oz weight and 35 ft. Of braid line out and some use double jigs. What happens when a rods snag and hooks up in structure that you didn't see?

Trolling motor for those speeds .... rod holders at front, sides, or back depends on "how" you intend to troll & where you are sitting.
If using 1oz weights and braid & you get hung : if you have the jigs on a leader (of less # test than main line braid) then you pull with rod pointed towards where you're hung and either straighten out the hook or break off. If using braid alone, then you do the same thing and usually straighten out the hook.
What you don't want to do is have your weights "on" the leader, because a snag can cause you to lose weight & jig/jigs. I attach my trolling weights to the main line (20-30lb test braid or mono) with a duo lock snap (20# test) and then put another duo lock snap on the other end of the weight to put my leader on. That way if I break off I can simply uncoil another leader/jig from the pool noodle section they're stored on, then clip it onto the snap & I'm good to go.
The progression is like this :
14' rod w/line counter reel
main line (20# mono or 30# braid)
duo lock snap
trolling weight (torpedo shaped lead weight w/line eyes on both ends)
duo lock snap
loop knot end of 18-24" leader line (6# test mono)
jig/plastics at end of leader (knot of your choice ... I use a Improved Clinch)
If you're using barrel sinker weights ... I suggest putting them on the main line, then a large plastic bead above the snap/swivel. The bead helps keep the sinker from wearing on the knot & weakening it. The only down side to using barrel sinkers is that you have to cut the main line & re-tie to change the amount of weight used.
