You are correct on several of your points, but there is a thing such as respect, courtesy, politeness, and acknowledgement of the individual that is taking the time to do all the hard work of placing the brush out only to have a rude brush poacher take issue with him wanting to fish the spot he made. Maybe you should engage with this individual, thank him for his efforts, concede the spot when he’s on the water, ask and you may find he’s ok with sharing “his” hole when he’s not around.

Our March trips down from Maryland were discontinued after the introduction/brainstorm of the turbine clogging "grass carp cure". Within the 1st year or two the alleged sterile fish(1 - 1.5 lbrs.) had devoured most/all of Santee's fish hiding spots. 20 - 25 lb. Grass carp were observed a few years later that were supposed to naturally die off in a few years. We changed our spring trips from Santee to Lake Eries' Smallmouth fishery up north. All I can say is thank you Santee officials! It is comforting to see that after a Grass replant Santee has returned to its notable fishery for crappie/bass/stripers and of course Ol' Mr. whiskers. Any alterations/additions to my account, please have @it.
