8-8-19 Gills

Went out for bluegill for a couple of hours again yesterday morning. Nice weather, a bit of fog to start the day ….. As usual I had My 3 observers with me again.

Headed for some deep water, and found some quality fish about 9 feet down, over 30 fow. Once again baited up with salted shrimp on a 1/32oz jig head under a slip float, and tore em up ! Got 34 total, with 6 or 7 in the 8 - 9 inch range.

Sorry for the short report, but I'm off to Bennet Springs trout park this morning, and I have to get a move on !

How do you prep the salted shrimp? New one on me, we always used crickets and red worms.

For saltwater fishing I would just peel fresh shrimp, and pour salt over them.Then let them sit overnight, it makes them tough with no need to keep them cold.

Those are some pretty Gills, great catch. Those pooches look happy to go along for the ride.
