On several occasions I have put in at Desoto lake and crossed the Miss. river and went into mellwood. We did it once in a 14ft John boat, never again. Check it out on Google maps.

If I pull that far might as well go to Washington. Been across to Desoto in a 14 footer a couple of times. Gets squirrelly in places.
