We might have been too quick to judge. Did anybody ask her for a photo of her boat and motor?

They come and they go. Every since the new laws about Robo phone calling, went in to effect, my spamming has increased very much.

Yep, I wish them tell a marketers who call and then don't say nothin would stop too. 20 or more of them a day. Don't do no good to block the number either. Somehow they still get through...

This is a tip for everyone to "help" with those spam calls.

My dad was getting a ton of them. No matter what he did (block numbers) they just spoof another number and try again. The key to this is that they know it is an actual phone number. Even though he never answered his phone, he still had a voicemail message. I believe his was simply his name which was enough for the spam computer system to recognize that it was in fact a real phone number and a real person.

I on the other hand get very few (if any spam calls). My voicemail does NOT have a person speaking (myself included). It is a computer generated message of my number. I changed my dads voicemail over to simply giving out his number. His voicemail messages went down to ZERO. Within a week his calls had been cut in half. Within a month and he was getting next to no calls at all. He was getting 20 or more a day previously.

The key to all of this is the fact that they utilize software that recognizes voices. Once a confirmation is recieved that it is in fact a good number, that is passed on to all the other scams they are running. If however it cannot confirm (it gets a number message) that number is actually scrubbed from the list via a computer.

Within your voicemail you have the option to select "number only". Do this for a month and see what happens.
