Small, light and dark usually for me, but Ledhed blows that out of the water. I use natural colors (handties) and maybe a bright head. Some of the plastics I use are bright but a green pumpkin and pearl tail combo has done well too.

What are some good hair jigs for bluegill?

Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
A bead head soft hackle fly (jig) tipped with a Berkeley Wax worm is killer any time of the year, but best in Summer when there are insect hatches. I like a 1/32 or 1/24oz size to aid in casting and sinking. But any small buggy looking hair jig will usually coerce the little rascals to bite

Fish USA, one of our board sponsors carries some. I found a couple packs on a bargain table at a Sportsman’s Show in the Early Spring. Only one pack of the 1/24, and have already lost most them but the 1/32 does well with the light line. This winter I will be tying my own. I used to tie hairs jigs years ago, have the supplies but just quit tying about 5 years ago. I am headed to Bass Pro this weekend and plan to look for a few there, but I imagine they will not be cheap.
