Thread: Question about pulling crankbaits?

I used to use plugs but not much anymore. Back then the maybe, maybe not. My answer was the knot I used. I started an overhand knot then the loose end of the line through the eyelet of the plug, then back through the loop for the overhand knot and tie another overhand knot above the first. Makes a loop om the line rather than a tight knot and no swivel on the end of the line. Don't really know if it was all that great but I've never broke off the knot!

No swivel or snap for me. I can tie a palomar knot just about as quick as I can get a snap undone. When lines cross, then tangle, no hardware makes it easier for me. I just cut the line at the lure, then retie directly above the tangle. Waste line goes in the garbage can. But use whatever works the best for you.

This really is the best way I use a swivel but the convenience or laziness of not having to retie will usually come back to bite you after you catch a few on the same line!
