Taking my 11 year old stepson bank fishing for crappie
I live in Cabot is there any place when in 30-45 minutes I can take him and actually catch some crappie. He already loves to fish but I’m trying to get him to into crappie fishing. If he doesn’t catch anything in about 30-45 minutes he starts bream fishing or catching anything that will bite. I’m trying to share my passion of crappie fishing with him but so far haven’t had any luck.

Bank fishing for crappie isn't easy, but I have seen it done. I saw a guy this weekend at Lake Greeson catching crappie from the bank by a tree that had blown over into the lake. They were pretty small, but he had about a limit of them.
Lowepro has caught some slabs off the bank and has posted pictures of them. Maybe you can contact him.

I don’t recommend bank fishing for crappie to get your son into crappie fishing. As GTT said, it can be tough. Best time to get a youngster involved in crappie fishing is flipping minnows under a cork around the water willow line in the spring, out of a boat. This was the easiest way for me to put my son on crappie. Good luck!
