This time of year it would be best to get close to where the fish spawn, docks, back bays, banks with shallow structure ect.....
Now I will tell you during the spawning season I never fish the shallow stuff as you'll mostly only catch male fish but find the drop off nearest the spawning areas and work the depths of 8 to 15fow, find structure in these depths and structure that's not visible with the naked eye will be the best.....
I believe moving fast and fishn slow is the best technique without a doubt, drop your jig working the depths top too bottom and change colors, size and actions...5mins on a spot without a thump move to the next.....

Great vid SK! What I am seeing is you fishing around off-shore structure in about 15 fow. Looks like you are fishing about 6-8' down. My lake has structure everywhere. Kind of hard to know where to start. I would like to see you focus more on techniques for us rookies. We already know you can put dem slabs in the boat. BAM!

You picked up on a couple things but missed some of the more important stuff...
If you're looking for exacts of things to do you'll fail at crappie catchn.....
There are no exacts...
These fish change constantly but the constants is what I will tell you.....
Get just out from the spawning grounds, 8 to 15fow, find structure that's not visible, fish it from the top down and change color of jigs and sizes....
If you do these things you WILL catch fish...
Move Fast Fish Slow....
If you're fishn in a area where there's structure everywhere you're fishn in a area that's very tough to catch fish.... they will usually be very scattered in areas with a lot of structure.....
Change your mind set of you can't catch'um, it affects you making good decisions and changes....
