Fished yesterday evening in some grass & pads with a new friend, Arkie55. We had great weather & put 48 in the cooler, but sadly they just were not the size fish I was looking for (even by Okatibbee standards). I had resigned to the idea that only 7-10 inchers were still in spawn mode...

Well, it so happened that I had this morning free, so I took my youngest daughter, Abigail, on an aquatic resources field trip (gotta love homeschooling!). We started off in the same cove I fished yesterday & found out that we were going to have similar results unless we took the risk to go elsewhere. We made the decision to leave the fish biting there & try another location... Glad we did! Found much better fish on the outskirts of some 2.5 grassbeds & had our 60 fish limit by 10:00 am! Ab gave me a run for my money, so I quit helping her get out difficult hook sets... LOL! If I had a boat wide enough for two people up front I’m afraid she would beat me!

Thank you, Lord, for a beautiful couple of days to enjoy your creation with friends & family!
