I do. I am set up for long lining but I am still learning. I am not sure how to know depth while trolling, best jig weight 1/32, 1/16, or 1/8, tip with minnow or not. Again, I am new to this.

look up Fish the Carolinas on Facebook there a couple videos about last weekend tournament there, most all them we're long lining... Main thing is speed knowing how fast you're going is most important. 1/32 @ .8 mph, runs @ 5' heavier the jig the deeper your jig runs there's several chart @ here on long lining so if you look @ you'll get a good start.

What I had to do was take one afternoon and set aside not to catch fish, but make a log sheet on different weights and depths based on my trolling speeds. I prefer to troll b/w .6-.8 mph.
I found an area that was 10'. MEasured the distance from reel to the first eye on my rod. Took a rod with a 1/32, one with a 1/16, and one with a 1/8 oz jig head. Set your trolling speed and start pulling line off your reel from the reel to the first eye. Count the number of pulls until your jig starts bumping the bottom. Write down that info.
I did this at 10', 20', and 30'. I then taped that sheet of paper to the lid of my tackle tray that has all of my jig heads in it. It takes a little time, but it will get you in the ballpark of how deep your jigs are running. There are other factors such as body type, minnow or no minnow, braid vs mono, dia of line, that will vary the depths, but it gives you a ballpark.
