    Bighead Carp state record is 67# 12 oz. Caught out of the lower lake in 2007.

    I bet he did, I couldn't imagine. Bet it was an adrenaline rush for sure. As long as those things stay on that side of the levee it's all good. Those PST rods are tough for sure!

    One day while fishing below wilbur mills dam the bighead must have been running. Guy beside me hooked one that headed for New Orleans. Got spooled and when the 50 pound line broke it sounded like a .22. He respooled and first cast he was hooked up again. He tried following him down river but failed to keep up. Came back with his bail in one hand and the rest in the other. Can't imagine 10 pound test and a crappie pole.

    I hooked into one last year and it kept me on the line for nearly a half hour before it finally broke off,,, man was I happy
