    Default Tough fishing

Visited my buddy's pond for a few days and struggled to catch fish. Tuesday PM we fished for a couple hours. Charlie caught 2 nice bream and 1 bass. I caught nada, none. 1st time I've scratched in his pond.
Wednesday we both scratched. Really hard to imagine we didn't get a bite.
Thursday morning we did better. Fish became active. I caught several nice bream only after I changed from white Beetle Spin to green one.
Charlie was fishing for bass and had a big strike on a top water Rapala. Turned out to be a really nice crappie. Picture doesn't do justice to the size.
    All released.
On a side note we had a dead battery and had to paddle for 3 days. We thought the motor was dead because I cleaned a ton of line off shaft. Charger had died which accounted for dead battery. We didn't figure this out until end of trip.
I made the Catfish Stew recipe I posted earlier and y'all need to try it. Really good. Had spaghetti with venison meat sauce next night. Least we ate good.Name: 20190228_100750_HDR.jpeg

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

I faired only slightly better this past weekend Ray. The bite was not good, or the fish weren’t eating what I was trying to feed them. Good report Ray, with quality time with your buddy. Good food, a Manhattan or two and the fishing becomes an after thought

Hey Tim, Charlie introduced me to a new drink called a "Godfather" . It's been an interesting change but Manhattans are always on the menu.
