I live about 5 miles from that bridge and fish out of Scuna/Turkey, Choctaw and Gums 5 or 6 months out of the year but not this year. I'll use Bryant but the water is in the parking lot there so may have to unload in the ditch!! Tin boat has it's place and I may be wishing I had one this year.

Rees, a few year back at a CM Classic Tournament, I remember they were pulling the lake hard for a Dam repair. They didn't care about the that tournament then? Do you think they will now? Hope so but I doubt they do...

Dam repair and a bridge they care nothing about are two completely different things. This past summer this bridge was raised on both ends where it had dropped down a few inches. Repairs were not cheap and the COE would not lift a finger to help, the beat 5 supervisor had to pay for it out of his budget. This road is on a state aide road and hopefully the state will declare it an emergency and fully fund it. It is election year and that will play a part, I hate politics.

Does anyone know if gums crossing( the boat ramp) will be closed also? I would think it would depend on where they barricaded the road off coming up to the bridge....

Politics may be what gets the bridge repaired faster. Lol

Looks like a bad design to me. Any bridge designers on the forum? Here is a picture of a similar failure.
