Thread: FYI About My email

Wow, sorry to hear that Skip. Hopefully you will find something better? I'm assuming you will still have a website maybe? Couldn't tell you how many times I've looked there. Good stuff!!!

WOW! what in the world happened ?

Well the way Yahoo has their stuff is I had to sign in using an email that I already had which was a public one so any time they send me anything I never get it since they send it to that email which is webmail and I don't do webmail! So I was having an issue and called them to change my password and once that was done and after I fixed the credit card issue and it was accepted and verified they said wait a little while and it will take. I called back and they said it was not paid and I told them all they had to do is charge it. Then he said it may take 24 hours before it will take the sign in. This after about 14 years of having that website. Keep in mind this too. I have not been able to update it in something like 3 or 4 years and that mean even changing or adding a pic. This was because I didn't have a PC any longer and that old software I built it with wouldn't work on my iMac so I would have to learn their new online software and totally rebuild the site, of course I procrastinated as I didn't want to fight that battle again, lol!

So I got mad and just told him to cancel the service and I should have waited so I could log in again and send everyone an email with it before I did that, but it didn't work out that way.

I just added a new email to my regular ISP and it is [email protected]

Sorry SuperDave, the site is gone unless I do something soon, lol!

That should work now, but telling everyone is another battle I have left.

Skip, if you own the domain name, you should be able to revive the email address and recreate the website too. I use google for my crappie.com email addresses. Even though I use my own server for the website itself. Here's a link for google's G Suite which I only use for "@crappie.com" email addresses: Custom Business Email | G Suite

Well I don’t know that I do own the domain name. I did that too long ago to remember, but think I just signed up and used it. I didn’t know what I was doing anyway, lol!

There are lots of good website places out there now. I know wix off the top of my head and sounds like Slab is no stranger in dealing with websites. Hopefully you can find what’s right for you and works. You and your website have been a huge part of my learning to tie jigs! I will say that looking at it today I saw pages I didn’t know were there. The buttons aren’t always visible.
