I don't wear it around my neck. I just slip it between my hat and my head, right above my right ear (since I'm right-handed.)

I bought these on your recommendation couple of years back. They work...are cheap......I have spares....I wade fish....and don’t think they will stab...or cut into the waders.

If fishing from a boat, a person could make one from a screwdriver, that doesn't work any more, a flat or phillips. The guy making the one from a toothbrush, I would't cut the end off, but remove the brushes, and make it, leaving it longer.

On fishing with waders, make a stringer with cord, a ring or washer, and use an old toothbrush, to stick it down thru gills. Unless your afraid the fish will puncture the waders.

This one works well and protects the fish from being hooked again when pulling the hook out of its mouth. Does the same job that you finger does but you can see whats going on in the fish's mouth.
