We've been fishing mouth of Lick. Good luck. Headed that way Wednesday.Know some folks been fishing down by the dam. Friend of mine went Saturday, says water temp got up to 50 by time they left, if that helps.

I am taking an old and dear friend to Oconee Tuesday. Where is my best chance to get him on some Specs or Stripers. Lick, Sugar, Main channel, Double Branches? I have not been up there this year.
Thanks

I fished double creek last Thursday for crappie and could not keep the stripers off my crappie jigs. Two days before another boat caught 10 stripers. That day the crappie were in there. I'll be there tomorrow Tuesday at sunrise at the long shoals boat ramp.

I've been a member for a while but haven't posted, I'm normally here just trolling. Ha! see what I did there. This seems like a great group of folks. I'm not an Oconee regular, usually fish Sinclair but I'll share what we did yesterday. After weeding through a bunch of tater chips in Cedar Creek Saturday we went to Oconee yesterday in search of better size. Put in at Fish Tale at daylight. We moved a few times looking for fish that would eat, wound up picking up a couple of good crappie and 8 or 9 stripers around the submerged timber and big island just south of Long Shoals boat ramp I think that's the mouth of Double Creek but like I said, I'm not an Oconee regular. We didn't blister them but it was steady enough to keep us interested. Left them biting around noon when the pleasure boaters got the waves going. Several boats eventually wound up in the area, looked like everyone had about the same luck we did. Fish seemed scattered over anywhere from 25ft to 60ft bottom. Saw 50 degree water temps. They wanted dark colors with and without a minnow at 1.2 mph. Good luck.

I wanna go, but I have a sore ankle, and have to wear an air-cast thing on my left foot. I think I can launch the boat OK. Thinking of going Thursday.

We fished Saturday out of Sugar Creek. went under the bridge towards the timber and fished 20-25 fow around 12 ft deep. we didnt kill them but we caught quality fish, keeping 21. dark colors were the trick. water temp was 48-50
