Finally got a few hours to get out before the holidays again. Last weekend the ramps were landlocked by a floating island of marsh. One side was open yesterday. Water was 53° and not as clear as usual thanks to all the rain during the week. Lite wind from the S and the slight current from the tide was going out.

I decided to try Inkdabber's tightline method with a pearl 1/16oz Crappie Day jig. I was prepared to tip with minnows but opted for a monkey milk FleFly crappie kicker on one rod. Double minnow rig set up on the other rod. The jig caught more than the minnows and got the bigger fish. They were really slamming the jig hard and every fish was hooked in the top of the mouth. All fish were caught at about 15-17 feet in 20-25 FOW.

It was a good day with a limit caught, keeping 10 eaters for the grease.

Forgot it was almost NOT a good day. While getting the boat ready to launch the plug failed. Had to run back to the bait shop for a new plug. I've been meaning to pick up an extra so I bought 2.
