    Default Helix 7 transducer

Just got a Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2N, it comes with a XNT9 SI 180T transducer. I want to mount it up front since I’m up there all the time. The screen is going in the front of the boat. Should I exchange that one for the XTM9 SI 180T or just buy the trolling motor adapter kit, ADXTM9. Hummingbird said it is an even exchange, and that the XTM9 is a “puck” style transducer. What does that matter? Thanks for any advice in advance. Have been looking at the Cable Savers by Cornfield Crappie also; anybody use those? They look like it keeps the cable neat and protected.

Go for the trolling motor ducer. Better fit plus it has extra protection built in for interference. That is a good setup for keeping wire out of prop and getting tangled. I have a terrova so I just ran mine up the shaft.

I don't believe there is any difference in shielding between the transom and TM SI transducers. The cable may be shorter but can't confirm that. Can use the adapter with the existing transducer.
