I've been ask how to fish da Tic at different times of the year.
I have posted all of my trips over the pass 10 years. Well it will 10 be in March. If you'll look at em and the dates you'll proberly see, other than the spawn, I pretty much do the same year after year. Which is to fish structure.
I like to single pole tight line with a tube on 1/16 unpainted minnow head. Usually with a combination of black, green, chartreuse. Sometimes blue and white works too. Not to say some of the other colors and styles would not do better.
I try hair jigs some times.
Ya gotta know this is a tidal river. Lots of big boat traffic at times. A falling tide is best. Turns on the bite. IMO
I do not use electronics. I like the sport of fishing with out them. Kinda like deer hunting with a bow. I'm sure electronics would help.

J.R. You are the expert fishing Tickfaw and have a proven technique to regularly bring home dinner. Reading your post throughout the years, seeing the pics, I’m also convinced your the expert wherever you fish...just sayin
fishervet LIKED above post
I'm convinced you could catch crappie in a bath tub. Keep posting JR, we all really enjoy your post's. I myself caught 4 drum( goo down there. haha) and a yellow bass today while crappie fishing. One was at least 5 lbs. All on jig pole. The crappie had been starting to pick up, but for some reason they lowered the lake 3 feet in 3 days and killed the bite. Y'all should see the water coming out the dam. Bout to flood the river below the dam Have not figured out the level control logic up here. At least I get to look at your pics. hahap.s. Did finally kill a deer yesterday, better than my fishing luck.

You moved the opposite direction that I did. I grew up in East Tenn. Mother worked for TVA after my dad died until retirement. Check out TVA - How TVA Manages Water Levels and give a look at the App they offer.

Thanks for the info JR. Good stuff. I am new to posting here but have seen a few of your posts and the comments here appear to be spot on. You seem to load the ice chest more than not. I fish the area but only rarely but spent more time there when I was young when my uncle had a place there. Picturesque place for sure.
