I don't tie a lot of jigs; but if a fish bites one of these, should I eat that crazy fish??!!

Sure why not? It's kind of hard for me to see close up, but I don't know why they shouldn't catch fish.

What are you using for body material as I can't really tell. My eyes are not what they use to be, LOL!

    Good Job!

We bought red and gold metallic elastic at Hancock Fabrics. It was located with the lace and other trims. I don't know how it is going to hold up; it doesn't tie on easily and hard to secure.

Are you starting the jig with a good thread base? Any material tied to the bare hook will be harder to secure.

I'd tie the tail farther back toward the bend in the hook and make the body bigger -- but that's just me.

I really believe in CATCH AND RELEASE into my livewells
we had a smallgroup of PETA people gather at OKIEBUG tackle shop here in TULSA about 10 years ago, when they approached me i told them i wasn't interested in what they had to say about the fishing & hunting industry and i added that what PETA stood for and that i've never had human but i heard they tasted like chicken and i love chicken... i thought they all was gonna have heart attacks...

try a drop or 2 of Super Glue on yout thread base before you start winding the elastic. I even do this with chenille body jigs, hold up a lot longer.
    Hope this helps.

Why not just use a thread body or get some chenille for your body? I don't make my body generally any farther back that the point of the hook or near that.

I do make a good thread base on the hook too and I make probably 20 wraps of thread before I tie in anything.

I fish two of the jigs and they both help put fish in the boat. Little Pinkie done real good must to have caught 10 + with it and it stilled was looking good.
