I was fishing a little 1/32oz Betts Spin with a 1" Charlie Brewer's black grub with a Chartreuse tail on 4 pound test line. The smaller lure and line size makes a huge difference in clear water.

I started in one of the old pits where the water was a little muddy, I thought the dark would stand out better for a Crappie looking up at the bait. Once I moved into clearer water they continued to hit the bait. The short version is a good guess, LOL.

I'd love to catch a cooler full of perch, but don't know enough about them. I occasionally catch a handful, but usually there small. I kept four that were about 9 inches and return three more that were only five or six inches. Probably the most I've ever caught in one area. I caught one way up Limestone Creek a couple years ago that was almost 13 inches and weight about a pound. Wished I could find where the big ones hide, LOL.
