Water temp was 70 last night, I was trolling around trying to catch a walleye and caught one Crappie. I was marking fish from 8' to a drop on 2d sonar I think they might be crappie. Thinking about going back with spider poles and try with minnows.

    Any thoughts

Sticking with this thread since it motivated me to start up again. I went out last night and caught a few with spider poles in 20' and in 5' water. There was a person fishing from shore who I have talked with before and he was hammering them casting out a small jig and reeling in slow. He caught 3 times what I was catching.

Should I have switched over to just casting, I lost my confidence and kept at it but could not find them again.

Water temp 61, had better luck casting out a small jig with slider. Spider poles not producing the best. I did catch one really nice one. Temps dropping to 41 deg with a high of 57 tomorrow. Going to try again tomorrow
