Prepping the truck
Yesterday just before dark I was prepping my truck to pick up a sliding patio door today. As I finished I hear a crackling sound, turn toward my backdoor neighbor's yard and watch a tree fall. A huge bang and smoke at the top of the utility pole. It covered the road, blocking the neighbors beyond me from going and coming.
I came in and grabbed an utility bill and call the outage number. Power was off so I had to go back outside to see. I got it reported and came inside. It was hot already, took a shower and went to eat, where it was cool. Got home at 10:30 and my power was on. The crew was out there working on the lines to my 2 neighbors.
Today, 9 am the city crew showed up to clear the tree off the road.

Talking to the crew one had a blue shirt on where the others had yellow, guess the overseer. He said to call the police next time and they would have been here last night. Gale said she called the city desk and left a recording.
Told them to leave it and I would cut what I could for firewood. Better hurry, we'll be back Thursday to pick it up. I said, see those 2 piles up the road, they have been there over 3 months. The old waste company sent a garbage truck on Monday. A garbage truck for trash on Thursday and the claw truck on Friday every week. This new service company sends a garbage truck the first part of the week. We have to call for trash and most of the time it's a week later and there's a reason why they can't pick it up. Said he would call and make a complaint. Said we are suppose to get 3 trucks through here every week as before.
