Since Guntersville is not super deep except for the main river channel and the bridges I would be looking at those area's first esp the bridges as they have deep water and shade. I mostly fish in the Spring and Fall down there too. My dad lives down there and he will sometimes stop and fish under a bridge on the causeway's. He said you can always tell when the bite is on if there is 5+ cars during the week parked on a causeway.
Thanks for the reply’s, that’s where I was thinking of going to like you said not a deep lake so figured bridges be good as anything especially with the shade, like to shoot boat docs but not many I have found up there 10 feet or better and the grass makes it tough this time of year

If you go up by Wintzell's Oyster house there are some floating cabins there that sit on 10'-12' of water. I used to rent the one farthest out a few times a year until the owner sold it. There are 2 porcupine fish attracters in front of that cabin too. I miss renting that cabin. Many a good mornings with my dad sitting on the porch catching Crappie, bass, cats and gills.

The cabins have the red roof's to the right of Wintzell's patio. You walk out the larger dock and they are out over some nice deep water with plenty of shade under them for the fishes! I miss eating at Wintzell's too. Every time I am in Alabama we make a stop there one day and Catfish Cabin another day.
Do you have to pay to fish the floating cabins? Hey Matt, I was thinking of going tonight. I know a few "hot spots". Mainly in the summer, I fish at night. I been going to my spring "hole" lately from the bank at first light, but I see at least 3-5 bald-faced hornets around the piers each time I go, so no thank you! Lol. But do you have a boat or are you banking it?
You can fish around them without paying. They are on a public waterway. You however cannot step onto them as most are privately owned. There are a few owned by the hotel on the hill. I have seen many folks fish around the cabins for bass and crappie from a boat.
Cool! I'm not from there so I didn't know. I've been trying to find someone to fish with tonight, but everyone has their "clicks" I guess. Thanks for the info on the location. My buddy went for 4 hours yesterday morning to Short Creek and only caught 2. Sad. They are just deep I guess. I'm waiting on November. January I have a man going to teach me about the Planer Board technique. That sounds pretty fun! I think that's what you call those boards. Lol! I forgot.
But how would I fish them if I can't step onto them? They aren't connected to the bank are they? I've never seen them.
