Well that's a racing stripe crappie. Ha ha! Maybe someone else will chime in with the real answer. I've never caught one.

Lots of them in Arkansas. There's a thread that refers to them as Mohawk White Crappie. Seems I remember something about Arkansas G & F stocking them.

It is a strain of black crappie.Da black stripe is the result of a recessive gene.

Ok, I was wrong. JR is correct - a black stripe crappie is a unique color variation of the black crappie - A magnolia crappie is a female white crappie and a male black crappie. To make the hybrid easier to identify, the black crappie used in this mating is a black stripe crappie. According to Mississippi wildlife's page. So to answer your question, it is a black stripe crappie.
