    Default Bucket Of Whites!

As of late, a morning fishing trip in the cool air has eluded me. Afternoon fishing trips are great, but freaking hot! We traveled 4 out of 6 weekends to various destinations, so having Fridays off this summer has not paid off.... until this morning. I found some nice Crappie earlier in the week in some deep water haunts, and went back this morning to wake them up with a snort of Slab Sauce. They were still at my starting spot, and I even found two new brushpiles while slowly motoring between spots. I am not sure how we ever survived before modern electronics, but the depth finder lit up like a Christmas tree and I finished a nice limit out before 10am.
Sponsor Shot- Thanks Slab for the Slab Sauce, it Works. Thanks Bobby Garland for being a site sponsor. Your baits also work!

Bucket shot above shows all White Crappie. I did not catch a single Black keeper all morning which was unusual.

Big boys of the morning. This next one was missing a wheel, I noticed he pulled a little to the LEFT while reeling him in:-). He looks like a possible Hybrid?

And finally a SWAG shot. Thanks Slab for the visor. I admit I did not wear it while on the lake this morning due to the direct sun, but I put in on soon as I got home.

I have caught several Black Crappie on cranks on Cherokee. The guys further South claim it’s a White Crappie thing only. On Douglas it tends to be more White Crappie on the cranks, and Black Crappie in the brush, but not always. Fish move, swim, and feed where they choose, regardless of their species. You are definitely fishing over deep waters, a thermocline should be setting up soon if not already.
