bros in law bought a 16 ft pontoon already set up for crappie hunting he has never pulled or launched a boat so i took him out wed. boat had 54 lb thrust co pilot and what i believe to be tight loc rod holders but they were not marked. i decided we would push cranks (my second time ).early morning did not produce a bite however about 10:30 they turned on . at one time we had one in the boat taking out hook and 2 other rods bent over. he had never had much luck catching fish before (always from the bank) . turned out to be a fun day we caught somewhere around 12 bringing 15 bring home 5. water was full of debris logs and branches everywhere, and was 80degrees just choppy enough to be an advantage imho, rain held off till we left he was very excited about his first day out and i was proud to have been a part of it. i think he will be buying cranks now lol
