You are lucky not to have them because they eat constantly everything. They are white perch that got into all our water steams here in SC. Some say cat fishermen brought them here for bait and turned them lose and I heard from the local DNR that they thought they were giving us something else to catch besides crappie.They are cousin to the white bass and look very similar. Basically the jerking part is that you jerk your hook when they bite your bait. If not, they steal the bait and are gone.

Thanks Ray for reminding me. I know they prefer you to toss them on the ground or trash bin. I don't think these minnows would make it to the bank with the amount of perch under the pontoon. Bass were abundant too! We caught three nice keepers but put them back for the sport fishing guys!![]()
