    Default Pulling cranks, no thanks!

So, we tried pulling cranks for three days, and DeltaBull and I had no luck at all! The only good thing about it seems to be the wind is more constant than when you are fishing like I normally do...
I'm sure there are some folks who do better, but I just don't think it is for me...
I kept waiting for the Stripers to slam in there, but the loss of mojo after losing my Crappie.com hat is persistent!

You have to put the bait in their face, then they react and bite. Figure their depth and adjust.

Jmo but I’d be happy to have a partner and accept whatever method he chose. You’ve been asking quite a bit for someone to go.

I thought sure you guys would catch a few today with changes you made. Don’t give up on the cranking. On the Rez, it will get easier once the thermocline sets up.

While I’ve caught some on cranks at the Rez this year, I’ve done better longlining a single, plain (not Roadrunner) 1/8oz jighead with a curly tail 55’ back at 1 MPH. With jigs I can fish closer to the structure and the slower speed seems to match the chasing desire of Rez crappie.

IMO, cranking is more difficult on the Rez than the Corp lakes due to depth changes, structure, and aggressiveness of the fish. I pulled on one of the Corp lakes from 5:30 till dark the past two days and easily caught 100 fish, 80% of which were short.

You didn't give up on fishing just because you didn't catch any fish one day did you? I know you've been more than once and got skunked before.

bird down, it's good to have someone to go with, but putting fish in the boat is what we are out there for... Pithon, I expect to catch fish when I go... Boat riding is fun, but if their are rods in the boat they need fish on the line!
Thanks Billbob thanked you for this post
