It was Pop (the guy in the middle)'s first time fishing since he was a little kid. He's 25 now. I told him that he must be our good luck charm because I have never had that good of luck on crappie in the marsh. He had a blast!

That's what I was thinking. You are usually catching bass down there. Nice change for sure.

Nice trip! I have never caught more than 3-4 white perch in a trip out there, but we normally target bass. I was curious. Are you launching on the intercoastal side and running down to the back? I normally launch on the south side of the Gibbstown bridge but the water is so low, we can’t get back up if we get knocked down after leaving the launch. Last trip I had to troll and push pole back to the launch after churning mud for a while. I was going to run down the intercoastal and try but I was afraid of the cut not being deep enough for me to get into the canals. Just wondering if you had the same issues or if that cut was open.

Yes this was from the back. The cut off the intercoastal is plenty deep. Now it gets shallow at the end of the 45 (cocaine lake). I too always fish in the front but after making a trip about 2 weeks ago and barely getting to the pond I like, I decided I was threw with the front until we get some major rain!
