    Default Dorcheat Bayou 5/30/18

Caught 15, kept 9, lost 8, and 4 of the 8 i lost were straight up toads.

I zeroed out yesterday, so I had to change up and go on the hunt for them. Found fish in 10 to 12 ft flats no deeper than 4 to 6 ft.
The flat I found was kind of like a big wide ledge it went 6 to 10 -12 to 15ft. Moving about .3 to .5mph. I feel like if I'd been there at daylight I'd put the hammer on them. I found this area about 9am and bite fell off about 10 am. That hour was pretty dang fun.

I don't know why buy those big slabs i mentioned I lost everyone of them. I felt I had a good hook set but watching them come up in the water it was as if they spit it out. I retied with a new jig thinking that was it, but the bite fell off so I don't know.

However tho, I had an exciting 15 seconds and some crappie got some sky miles. I set the hook on a dink a little to hard and it launched, a sec later hit my next pole launched him, as soon as my first jig hit the water again I set the hook and launched a 3rd one. They all hit the water within a few seconds of each other. I wish I would had a camera rolling it was pretty funny.
