    Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone, I just thought the newer motors had v2 molded into the plastic side covers. I was seriously considering buying this motor but without the model# I couldn't get the price for the I pilot head to fit it. Also the newest motors use a different font on the sides, looking at the Minn Kota website.

    I was not offended at all !!! just trying to help , what you are seeing on Minn Kota website now are the latest and greatest and they will change next year !!! take look at this site that shows a 2018 Minn Kota PowerDrive !!!

    I contacted MinnKota the upgrade to convert this to I-Pilot inculding spot loc I-Polit remote and blue tooth cost $459.00 part #2774055

    I am not J.M. but the answer to your question is yes !!! I talked with Minn Kota tech support today on this trolling motor today !!! it is upgradable to Bluetooth® Ready when upgraded to the New I-Pilot

    I have a 2016 v2 12volt. Will my I-Pilot off it fit this motor?
    There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

    Called minn kota they said yes. can you pm me your phone # my son is very interested.
