Thread: Is it jig pulling or crankbait time?

Have caught a few both ways more on jigs! But I’m a novice on pulling cranks and jig heads are a whole lot cheaper than crank baits so I’m out to pull jigs more often ! Good luck and post up some picture when done ! Be careful watch out for the weekend warriors!

Guntersville lake is gonna be like a wave pool this weekend. It was bad enough this afternoon! I use to hate jet skis but I've decided I don't mind jet skis. It's those dang wake boats that I hate!

I've pulled jigs twice this week witout catching a crappie. I've been fishing humps and around humps. Grass, no grass, 5'-15' deep. NADA. You're probably way more experienced than I am but what was working great for me last weekend hasn't worked at all this week.

Hey Arab, my late friend David and I would start pulling cranks in earnest in June for sure or when the temperature of the water went above 80°. We use to bump into you a few times . We tried a lot of cranks but the bandit 300 hot pink was always the go to crank bait. Not sure why as I haven't seen anything alive bait wise in the water that color HA .all black and all white came in at a distant second. we usually pulled at about 1.76 to 2.0 mph following the creek channels. and one edge area of the river itself

Crankbait or tight lining a minnow right now is what I would (will) be doing.

I'd be pulling cranks. I found any shad pattern worked great on the Big G. I really like the mad cow and the ghost by Pico. Bandit 300s on line counting reels to control depth, 1.6 - 2.2.

Crankbaits were working well this past weekend...
